When the second window panel gets attached to an existing window panel, there remains an air space between itself and the active window which significantly reduces the transfer of heat energy from outside surrounding to inside during summers, and from inside the house to outside during winters. The trade second glazing window is generally made to match the appearance of the existing window while the original window remains untouched. One can choose the supplementary window to be either fixes or open able depending on the needs.
