This method cannot be removed for cleaning without destroying the components, and does not generally last more than one season. Secondary glazing can be done in several ways. In a typical method, a glass panel that is fixed in a frame and attached to the inside of the window unit or a frame added to the window display. Sometimes an acrylic panel is used in place of glass to make it lighter. There is also a method of using heat shrink plastic or cellophane attached using double-sided tape.
here are many advantages of secondary glazing over double glazing. If the gap between the secondary glazing and the existing window pane is at least 40mm, the still air space between the two panes delivers good insulation from exterior temperatures, therefore, reducing noise significantly as well as condensation. Specialist glass is highly effective against road, aircraft, rail noise or any kind of noise. If a 6.38mm laminated glass is used, it gives you a 94% UV block while ensuring natural light into the room without fading carpets and furnishings. _________________ secondary glazing secondary double glazing |
